Lynn started dancing at the age of three and it was soon obvious that this was going to be her passion. At the age of twelve Lynn headed off to East Grinstead to start her vocational training at Bush Davies. Leaving there at 16 she returned home for a brief time before again heading off to London to dance and study with Art's Educational in Chiswick. Following on from that Lynn trained at the Royal Academy of Dance gaining her LRAD teaching qualification. In December 1996 Lynn returned to Aberdeen and founded Lamour School of Dance.

Lamour School of Dance

The Principal

Lamour School of Dance was established in 1997 and Lynn Adams has been teaching in both Newmachar and Dyce ever since. Every year, there has been the opportunity for the pupils to sit dance exams in Ballet (RAD) and Modern (ISTD ). These experiences have helped the children gain confidence in their abilities and feel a sense of achievement. Tap, Jazz and Contemporary classes are also available. The students are able to showcase their skills during performances held at the Aberdeen Arts Centre. This encourages commitment and enlightens younger students to their potential. Our schools philosophy is, work hard, respect others and enjoy dance.

At Lamour School of Dance we follow The Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Examinations syllabus

The RAD offer an internationally recognised portfolio of exams designed to motivate and encourage students of all ages and levels of ability.

For other genres of dance including  Modern, Jazz and Tap we follow The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance syllabus.

The examination structure of the ISTD is designed to cater equally for those who wish to progress to making dance their profession, either as a performer or dance teacher, and for those pursuing dance purely as a leisure activity.
